Dr. Wilzen Anne Lingad is the owner and founder of Bridges Eyecare. She is an experienced and compassionate optometrist proficient in primary and pediatric eye care, contact lenses (including toric, multifocal, scleral and ortho-k), dry eyes, glaucoma, macular degeneration, as well as emergency and routine eye care.
Dr. Wilzen Anne Lingad entered a joint program between the City College of New York and the SUNY College of Optometry. She obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2016. During her training, Dr. Lingad received the State University of New York diversity fellowship 4 years in a row. This, in addition to her ability to perform eye exams in English, Spanish and French, highlights her ability to work with compassion and care with patients of all ages, ethnicities and socio-economic backgrounds.
Before launching Bridges Eyecare, Dr. Lingad gained extensive experience working with optometrists and ophthalmologists in different private practice environments. Her time there provided her with valuable insights, particularly in co-managing surgical cases like cataract, strabismus, and glaucoma surgeries.
Before entering Optometry school, Dr. Lingad worked as a science and fashion after-school teacher across multiple schools in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Dr. Lingad grew up in Geneva, Switzerland and moved to New York City on her own at the age of 19. She now lives in Queens and enjoys spending her free time with her husband and their two young daughters.
